1. Introduction

ChoreHero (“we”, “us”, “our”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile app and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this policy.


2. Information We Collect

a. Information You Provide

  • Account Information: name, email, password
  • Household Information: profiles, chore lists, schedules
  • Support Communications: any messages you send us
  • Feedback Data: When you submit bug reports or feature requests through the in-app feedback form, we collect your feedback content, category, impact level, device model, OS version, app version, the page you were on, and your email address for follow-up.

b. Automatically Collected Data

  • Authentication Data: login timestamps, session information
  • IP Address: collected by our infrastructure provider (Supabase) during API requests

c. Optional

  • Profile Image Uploads: when you choose to set a profile picture
  • Camera & Photo Library: If you choose to set a profile picture, we request access to your camera or photo library. Images are stored in our cloud storage.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To Provide & Personalize the Service: deliver core functionality, sync chores, assign reminders
  • To Improve the App: analyze usage patterns, fix bugs
  • To Communicate: account updates and service-related notifications
  • For Security & Legal Compliance

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information:

  • With Service Providers: e.g., Supabase
  • With Your Household: data shared among family members as configured
  • For Legal Reasons: if required by law or to protect legal claims
  • Business Transfers: in connection with mergers, as permitted by law

5. Your Controls and Rights

  • Access, Rectify, or Delete: You can delete your account directly in the app under Profile settings. You may also contact us to review or erase your personal data.
  • Device Settings: manage notifications and app permissions.

If you’re in the EU or UK, you also have rights under GDPR: data access, portability, restriction, objection, erasure.


6. Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active or needed for Service purposes. After account deletion, personal data is deleted within 30 days, except if retained for legal obligations.


7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest
  • Access Controls and secure infrastructure (Supabase)
  • Cloud storage for profile images

8. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in the U.S. If you’re outside the U.S., appropriate safeguards (e.g., EU Standard Contractual Clauses) apply.


9. Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Parents/guardians should oversee account creation for minors. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us to remove it.


10. Third‑Party Integrations

We use third-party services (Supabase). These subprocessors are contractually obligated to protect your data. We will notify you of any new subprocessors via this policy.


11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We’ll post the updated version with a revised “Last updated” date and notify users of major changes. Continued use indicates acceptance.
